Privacy Policy

This policy explains how personal data is handled when you use the Journelixa mobile application. Journelixa processes only the data needed to provide journaling, mood tracking, reminders, account synchronization, and subscription features.

1. Data we process

Account and profile data: Firebase user ID, email address, display name, and sign-in method.

User content: notebooks, journal titles and text, entry dates, and mood values that you create.

Security data: not your journal PIN itself, but a salted one-way verification hash and related security settings.

Subscription data: product, purchase history, entitlement status, app user ID, and device identifiers depending on platform and configuration.

Device features: notifications, microphone, camera, photo library, and biometric authentication are used only when you enable or permit them.

2. Purposes and legal bases

We process data to authenticate your account, synchronize journals across devices, enforce PIN protection, deliver reminders you configure, verify subscription access, provide support, prevent abuse, and secure the service. Depending on the context, processing relies on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent or device permission where required.

3. Service providers and international transfers

Google Firebase is used for authentication and cloud synchronization; Apple App Store or Google Play processes store payments. Third-party infrastructure (RevenueCat) is used for payment verification and subscription management. Your journal text is not sent to RevenueCat; purchase information, entitlement status, and user/device identifiers may be processed. Providers may process data outside your country under their terms and applicable transfer safeguards.

4. Voice, camera, and biometrics

Voice typing may use the operating system’s speech-recognition service, whose processing depends on your device and platform provider. Images you choose for text scanning are processed only to extract text; the image is not uploaded as a journal entry, while extracted text becomes journal content only if you save it. Journelixa does not receive or store biometric templates; authentication is performed by the operating system.

5. Retention, security, and deletion

Account and synchronized content are retained while you use the service or as operationally or legally necessary. You may request deletion of your account and Journelixa cloud data through “Delete my account” in Profile. Store transaction and RevenueCat records may remain subject to provider retention periods for tax, fraud-prevention, and legal obligations. Platform encryption is used in transit, but no system can be guaranteed absolutely secure.

6. Your rights and contact

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and withdrawal of consent. Use the in-app deletion tool or the developer support contact published on the App Store or Google Play listing. You may also complain to your competent data-protection authority. Journelixa is not directed to children below the applicable age of digital consent without parental authorization.
